U-Select-It Launches Redesigned Website Part 2: Customer Experience

From face-to-face dialogue with our customers to end users accessing food and drink products from our equipment, U-Select-It has always been focused on providing the best customer experience. Our approach to our recent website redesign was no different.  In focusing on the customer experience offered by our new website, our goal was to provide a secure, interactive and seamless experience.

On the new website, we implemented SSL which stands for Secure Sockets Layer.  From a user perspective, the most noticeable aspect of SSL is that the website URL displays as ‘https’ rather than ‘http’.  In short, SSL is the standard technology for keeping an internet connection secure and safeguarding any sensitive data that is being sent between two systems, preventing criminals from reading and modifying any information transferred, including potential personal details.

Implementing SSL was especially important since the new site features an on-site credit application.  Now users can securely and easily get approved for financing without having to speak with one of USI’s credit managers or going through the tedious process printing off a hard copy credit application, filling out the application, and faxing, emailing or mailing the credit application to USI’s in-house financing company, Inland Financing.  With USI’s on-site credit application, customers can get approved for financing the same day!

We recognize that today more and more users are accessing www.uselectit.com via mobile devices and tablets.  In fact, today ~34% of users access our website via a mobile device or tablet whereas only ~13% were in 2012. In order to provide an optimal viewing experience on these devices, the new website utilizes a Responsive Web design (RWD).  A RWD is a web design approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience such as easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling across a wide range of devices.

We have found that more and more site visitors are wanting to stay ‘connected’ with us.  Many visitors want to receive updates on new products, support updates, and current promotions.  To ensure those that want to know are the first to know about all things USI, we created a newsletter sign-up located on every page of our new website in the lower right-hand footer.

In addition to connecting with USI, we want to make it easy for our customers to contact us, as well as find and contact our Distributor partners.  You can quickly and easily find the USI Regional Sales Manager in your area with the site’s interactive Regional Sales Manager map. Not only can you quickly find your ‘go to’ contact, but have their full contact information including phone number(s), email address and Linkedin profiles at your fingertips.
