Snack vending machines are already pretty convenient. I mean, you walk up to one wherever, be it a movie theater or even laundromat, put in some coins and you get something delicious. But now they may get even easier. Newer vending machines may come with the option to pay with your smartphone, so you don’t have to go fishing for a single or some quarters.
These snack vending machines will use the app Google Wallet and have stickers so customers can know which ones use it. Google Wallet is currently only available for Android, though, so iPhone users may actually have the short end of the stick for once. I mean, if they are worried about how they can get their next bag of white cheddar popcorn.
In fact, it’s only available for ONE model of Android phone, the Sprint Nexus 4G. So you might not see these vending machines popping up everywhere because not everyone has this phone. But Google said they’ll be making the app for more models, so who knows. Maybe you’ll just have to tap the next time you want that cinnamon bun you eye in the machine. Beats the heck out of trying to find the change at the bottom of your purse!
